Can't decide if it's better to live in a state at the top or bottom of that list...

This take the War on Christmas to a whole new level.  Now people are shooting up Christmas trees.

Christmas tree shot, saves woman's life

Tina Smorey’s house was hit by a stray bullet.

It went through the front of the house, coming out in her living room wall and hitting the Christmas tree.

She told KDKA’s Brenda Waters: “I was sitting on my couch and I heard six to eight loud pops. If the tree wasn’t there, we would have had that couch right under the windows; but ironically, we put the tree up early this year.

Now this is a Happy Meal

Their burgers might be squares, but their employees clearly aren't.

Wendy's employee Amy Seiber was arrested and soon became an ex-employee on Nov. 1, when a customer at the chain's Lovejoy, Ga. location called 911 on Nov. 1 and reported there was a half-smoked blunt inside her burger, TMZ reported Thursday.

Chinese government says smog is good and has benefits

In response, the government published a list of reasons documenting the benefits of smog:

1. It unifies the Chinese people.
2. It makes China more equal.
3. It raises citizen awareness of the cost of China’s economic development.
4. It makes people funnier.
5. It makes people more knowledgeable (of things like meteorology and the English word haze).

6. Smog may affect people’s health and daily lives, but on the battlefield, it can serve as a defensive advantage in military operations.

It's a shame that one day our countries are going to end up in an apocolyptic war, because having an authoritarian, hypocritically-Communist government controlling that much of the human population just leads to so much humor.

You can now stream your playlists on Spotify through your mobile device as part of the free membership, although you can only do it randomly on Shuffle Play (who cares?). Also, Led Zeppelin is now available for streaming on Spotify.

7 Foods to NEVER Feed Your Cat

Feline Food Offender #6: Caffeinated Drinks

Some cats may be drawn to lapping up your coffee, tea or soda, but according to Dr. Perea, too much caffeine consumption can cause an increased heart rate and agitation in your kitty.

Welp, sorry Z-man, no more Monster Energy drinks for you.  No "unleashing the beast" for Mr. Kitty any more.

I mean, seriously?  Who's giving their cat caffeinated drinks?

Seems like those are the same problems as giving caffeinated drinks to...yourself.

Man applies for North Dakota coaching vacancy touting video game credentials, promises to ‘chuck the pigskin’

Domination.png

Chris McComas doesn't have much of a shot at getting the football head coaching job at North Dakota. But he had some free time and figured he might as well give it his funniest shot.

McComas works at Marshall University as a systems integration specialist and when he saw the vacancy posted on Twitter, he sent in a hilarious cover letter and nine-slide PowerPoint presentation to convince UND Athletic Director Brian Faison he was the man for the job. He touted his video game experience with Thurman Thomas in Tecmo Bowl and his recruiting prowess in NCAA Football. And his teams would throw the ball.

"My football philosophy is basically an attacking one," he wrote in the cover letter. "We’re going to give AIR RAID a whole new definition. Theoretically how many times do you think a team can pass in a game? Challenge accepted. We’re going 5 wide, chucking the pigskin all over the place. Never punt. Onside every time. Chip Kelly will be calling me to learn my offense. We will put on an exciting brand of football, we will pack them into the Alerus Center night in and night out, go ahead and blow the roof off the place and add about 35,000 seats to that place."

Any Tecmo Bowl reference on a resume should result in an immediate hire, for any job, in any profession, in my book.  Of course I think this guy touted his Madden experience and not Tecmo Bowl, but why get on Yahoo for that mistake?

Seems like it would have a negative impact on the passing game. And the running game. And any other aspect involving the hands.
