Yeah, I've avoided the topic with my wife all day. It's like this big unspoken gap that is weighing on us, and it's not going to go away so quickly. Worse yet, my son grabbed my cellphone at one point today and checked scores, and when he saw the Canucks were out, he mentioned it out loud. I had to kick him under the table to shut him up.

I'm hopeful that by the time the second round gets underway, things will have cooled off enough that I can openly root for the Blues, but I get the impression that if I do, I might get some resentment from her.

Flowers and candy generally work.

@reneknottsports There it is again the giant party Zamboni complete with keg!

I hadn't seen this before. I know the kid whose rich parents pay thousands of dollars for their kid to sit in the "passenger seat" but not a whole group.

I saw the NHL Tourney Challenge on their FB page. It just doesn't work like the NCAA Tourney with a smaller, multi-game format. Maybe diehard NHL fans can do it, but it seems pretty tough to predict.

Think it's generally easier to predict than the NCAA... but not nearly as fun.

The winners themselves might be easier to predict, but the amount of games for each round? The NHL playoffs I think is the least predictable of big four sports. And yeah, it's just not as fun. I've said for sometime the amount of teams in the NCAA is the perfect number for bracket pool purposes (excluding the First Four, which is ignored anyways). I give the NHL for trying to get more fans interested in the playoffs, I just don't see this being a thing especially with how close it is to March Madness.

I used to work for a company based in St. Louis back in the late 80/early 90s (actually met my wife there, but that has nothing to do with this story)...anyway, the owners came to visit and during that week the Blues happened to be playing the Caps at the Cap Centre, so I got some tickets and took them...They were EFFING NUTS about the Blues, even to the point of screaming BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUES about 7000 times throughout the night.

They told me on the way back that St Louis had the greatest sports fans in the world, between Cardinals and Blues fans...Anyway, I did notice the Blues game on at the bar where we ate dinner tonight, and thought about those guys.

Didn't he pass away?

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

If he did this is the first I've heard of it.

Must have been someone else from the OH days I am thinking about.

Anyway, I read that the Blues had the second longest Stanley Cup appearance drought -- 1970.

Who has the longest? Toronto?

He's still alive, lives in Israel.

He and I had a personal falling out that I won't get in to, but he's doing well as far as I know.
