We have to remember how many people watch the SB every year who don't watch football ,or at least watch the news when Ravens coverage is lead story.

Two other names that I would bet a lot of money being over 50% on the Ravens. Jacoby Jones, him of SB and DWTS fame, and Justin Tucker.

Much less with the photo/lineup thing. Especially for football players, since most of the time they are seen their face is obscured.

I'm fairly confident with my list. I thought about Oher, but it seems like The Blind Side thing ran its course a while ago. Went back and forth on Matt Wieters and Nick Markakis, since both have been prominent Orioles players for a few years now, but both are kind of understated and neither had a great season last year (and I assume we are asking people as of right now). Another thing is if you're just asking a name, Wieters and Markakis aren't names that will often get confused with other people....whereas if I just went up to someone asking "who is Chris Davis or Adam Jones" that could actually make it tougher for someone to identify. It would be an interesting study.

I'd add is since this was a complete Baltimore list, a good portion of Montgomery County/PG County would have to know these names.

I'm honestly not sure on some of the names being over/under 50%. From a sports fans perspective, they would all seem to be good choices. But I'm just not sure about the general population.

This is true. With less media exposure in the DC market, some non-sports fans in that area probably won't recognize as many of those names. But with some of them, like Flacco or Harbaugh, in the Super Bowl last year it was pretty much impossible to avoid hearing those names no matter where you live, sports fan or not.

I mentioned Phelps. I'll bet his profile is just as big internationally as it is in the US, just because the Olympics are a much bigger event in other countries. I'd even think that a large portion of China knows who he is, considering how he stole the show at the Beijing Games.

I think Flacco and Harbuagh are good bets as the QB and head coach of the SB champions. Phelps is one of those I'm more convinced of. Torrey Smith should be more well known outside of Ravens fans from his time at Maryland. I know football is more popular, but one thing the O's have going for them as opposed to the Ravens in this regard is many watch the O's and not the Nats.
