Really? That is all you will hear?  There are multiple comments from everyone about will that be enough... that can you give Edsall the pass even with the injuries? It's part of the evaluation, and outside of Zack; I don't know there is anyone that has come out and said he's sticking with Edsall no matter what.

Even Zack came out in his article and laid out rationale for both sides... with the same expectation of finishing 6-6 that you have.

The only thing you've stated that this unique to you, is that basically you don't feel the injuries MD has has suffered should be part of the evaluation of Edsall. I don't think you will find many who agree with that, even those who also think a change should take place.

Im not saying injuries don't matter but they just came in and punked you. They had no interest in playing this game. Tried to give the game away and MD showed no desire to take it.

How can you be encouraged by today.

We all expected MD to get blown out. If youre encouraged because we only lost by 13 youre being completely results oriented.

So that oddsmaker in Vegas is indeed laughing.

If you got it early you still pushed. Even with the ridiculous backdoor push/cover

If I was simply results oriented, I wouldn't be encouraged at all.

The better more talented team, pulled away in the 4th Quarter from the depleted, injured, not-as-talented team.

There is no other narrative here.

Ok going into the game what the hell did you think the score was going to be?

If you would have told me Clemson was going to play as bad of a game as they could play I would have at least thought we would have been inside of 2 TDs. And we needed a score with 8 sec left or it would have been 3 TDs.

No excuse to let a team come into your house and beat you down with their F game. I don't care if you are playing all 2nd string guys. It shows no heart and is again a reflection of our poor coaching.

There is no excuse for a Top 10 team to beat a team without as much talent when healthy, who is injury depleted?

Clemson is Top 10 for a reason... they have the talent to play down to an opponent, and still win easily... because they are that talented.

MD played without heart today. That's just an odd pov imo.

Again... I've even said in this thread, there are ways where I would fire Edsall after this year.... but to you, that makes me an apologist?

Ok... at this point I'm just going to nod and smile lol.

You really think Clemson is a top ten  team after the last 2 weeks. Come on. If Boyd is a shell of his normal shelf, as it appears, they are not even a Top 25 team.

That's not the question, but ok what do you think the BEST and WORST case scenarios were going into the game (NOT now).

I think they have the same core team that beat LSU in the bowl last year, and beat Georgia to start this year. They have an explosive veteran offense, and a talented D-line. I think they have O-line issues... recruiting rankings over the last 4 years show a roster with plenty of talent.

I think they played down to an opponent today (and they've done that before this year), and that Boyd is going to continue to deal with his leg / foot issues.

I think acting like they are not talented is really reaching.

As the color guy said today, the offense isn't close to what they were last year. They can say differently but they lost Ellington and Hopkins as playmakers. He also said this team looks much closer to the '11 team than the '12 team and I think he is spot on.

Well as long as you want to take what the ESPN Color guy was saying today....  remember that he said multiple times that he thought Edsall was doing a great job building the program, and was impressed by MD's back-up talent.

Absolutely.

I probably went a little overboard there. Saying they aren't a top 25 team is ridiculous IMO. They might not be a top 10 opinion, but saying they don't deserve to be ranked is unfair.

My bad Bnickle on this one, we all have our opinions.

I totally agree with this, you see this all the time in sports. Psychologically speaking, it's different even if you try to approach every game the same way.

He was critical at times. I thought he did a good job honestly. Of course, he's not going to throw Edsall under a bus.

Again, Boyd clearly is hurting and isn't the same QB. They have trouble running the ball as well. I see a team that is probably going to end up out of the Top 15 at the end of the year. If they had a tougher schedule down the stretch they might even drop out of the Top 20.

I'll be the first to tell you that I'm not the biggest college football fan. I don't watch all the games. However, I know a Top 10 team when I see one and Clemson hasn't been close to a TOp 10 team the last 2 weeks. Apparently not the week before against BC either, but I didn't see that game. Just going off what the color guy was saying and looking at the final score.

Why not? He doesn't work the Terps, he doesn't call a million games involving them.

Btw, definitely possible they could drop out of the top 20, but so could just about anytime who isn't undefeated right now.

They will win their next 3, so they will be a bit inflated going into the South Carolina game... if they pull things together, and win that... they will be pretty highly ranked going to their Bowl game.  If they lose at South Carolina... another talented team, in a rivalry game... they will be 15th to 20th going into the Bowl game.
