Garcia 2011: 12-8, 3.62 era, 146.2 ip, 152 hits, 16 hr's, 45 bb's, 96 k's, .750 OPS against, 0.63 G/F

Pitch F/X:

Chen making his O's / MLB debut.

Baltimore needs to win tonight. You get the win, you guarantee that you end this opening home-stand with a winning record. You get the win tonight, you can come back tomorrow and still have hopes of winning the series. You lose tonight, you have to face Sabathia and worry about the prospects of being swept.

Would love to see Chen get through the 1st unscathed, and get some early runs for him.

I'm thinking about writing a post bout stealing signs. All this coverage & "unwritten rule" shenanigans is obnoxious.

Sounds good. Amazing how many unwritten rules there are.

Sound like a broken record, but strike 1 is always so important against everyone, but especially a patient team like NY.

Chen starts Jeter with a ball inside at the knees, and ball two up and out.

Jeter was able to sit on the fastball there. Was all about falling behind.

Nice breaking ball to Swisher.

Swisher follows with a double.

Chen could use a few words from Wieters.

He's got some life to his arm. He needs to get back to the dugout.

Zone looks tight this evening. Not a good sign (for either team).

If he can get out of the 1st here, he will probably settle in a bit.

3-0 to Tex...
