2015. Very good value for the price. Is Chen's option for next year, or 2015?

Season: 7-7, 3.99 era, 4.21 xFIP, 121.2 ip, 116 hits, 15 hr's, 36 bb's, 90 k's
His K/9 and HR/9 %'s are down vs. last year. BB% is the same. Left on-base % slightly better.

via Roch Kubatko, Chen's recovery from surgery to remove bone spurs hasn't been going as well as hoped, but team is saying there is no reason to worry.
...hasn't been as seamless as some others have been
I think he's going to be fine, but he's somebody we're really keeping close tabs on

MASN: Game update and quotes from Chen
http://www.masnsport...-showalter.html
Wei-Yin Chen was outstanding in three innings of work, allowing one hit and striking out two.
"I feel overall out there pretty good," Chen said through his interpreter. "Trying to hit the location, and I was able to do that and I was happy."
Comparing his two starts, Chen said, "I think the main difference is my command is better than the last outing. I was able to keep the ball low and hit the both sides of the plate. I think that's the main difference."
Chen is close to reaching the point in camp where he's doing more than just working on pitches and strengthening his arm.
"I think I was very close to pitching in a (real) game," he said. "I've got a feel for my pitches, and in the next few outings, I was going to try to get a better feel for all my pitches. Everything is on track for the moment.
"The changeup works the best for me. The curveball and my slider are not 100 percent yet, so I will try and get a better feel for that in the next few outings."

Of course he is. Find me a member of the rotation that isn't important for O's success.

6/11: 7ip, 4 hits, 0 er, 0 bb's, 7 k's...
Only 87 pitches, too. Would've gone more if not for the long rain delay in the middle of the 7th.

That may have been a blessing is disguise given his struggles once he gets close to 100 pitches.
