Daniel Moroz provided a summation that equates with my basic thoughts on this acquisition.

Well...how does everyone feel about this, now that he's been DFA'd?
I guess I'm surprised he was DFA'd. I never expected him to make the rotation, but did think he had a good chance to be part of the bullpen. If he clears waivers and the O's get to stash him at AAA, I think that would be a good thing.

Pretty much the same.
There was a chance that with hindsight, the deal would have looked good, and I guess that chance still exists if no one claims him, but without hindsight, it didn't make a whole lot of sense. At the same time, I don't think it was that big of a deal.

Has been pitching well, so now is as good a time as any to get him up here.

Certainly doesn't hurt. We can only hope he does well.Hopefully he can come up here and give us a few decent starts..he is capable of that.

Dana is LHP, so at least there is that.

Right now I think he most likely is. Overall he isn't, but Eveland has been doing well in AAA and Hunter has been struggling. I like the switch, even though I don't think Eveland will give us a great chance at winning.Yeah but is he any better than Hunter?
Neither are guys you really want in your rotation all year long, IMO. Swing men / long relief type guys. Maybe Hunter could be a bit more valuable of a bullpen arm or a #4 type starter, but I'm not that high on him.
