Camden Crazies: http://www.camdencra...na-eveland.html

Daniel Moroz provided a summation that equates with my basic thoughts on this acquisition.

Well...how does everyone feel about this, now that he's been DFA'd?

I guess I'm surprised he was DFA'd. I never expected him to make the rotation, but did think he had a good chance to be part of the bullpen. If he clears waivers and the O's get to stash him at AAA, I think that would be a good thing.

Just another waste of a trade.

These guys are always there to be had for free.

Yeah it was stupid to trade anything for him in the first place, even if it wasn't much to give up. I'm glad things aren't bad enough pitching-wise that we need him on the squad, and hope we can get off the hook for his salary if another team is dumb enough to claim him.

Pretty much the same.

There was a chance that with hindsight, the deal would have looked good, and I guess that chance still exists if no one claims him, but without hindsight, it didn't make a whole lot of sense. At the same time, I don't think it was that big of a deal.

Hopefully he can come up here and give us a few decent starts..he is capable of that.

Has been pitching well, so now is as good a time as any to get him up here.

Certainly doesn't hurt. We can only hope he does well.

Yeah but is he any better than Hunter?

Dana is LHP, so at least there is that.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Right now I think he most likely is. Overall he isn't, but Eveland has been doing well in AAA and Hunter has been struggling. I like the switch, even though I don't think Eveland will give us a great chance at winning.

Neither are guys you really want in your rotation all year long, IMO. Swing men / long relief type guys. Maybe Hunter could be a bit more valuable of a bullpen arm or a #4 type starter, but I'm not that high on him.
