O's still up 1, heading to the bottom of the 2nd.

I've been pleased with the tailing movement on Hammel's 2-seamer. You can tell the Twins are having trouble squaring up on it. If MLB GameDay's PitchFX data is correct, his 4-seamer has just as much velo as his 2-seamer, but it's pretty flat. If there's no velo change, I'd stick to the moving 2-seamer as much as possible. The ball that Mourneau creamed to dead center for the first out of the 2nd was a flat 4-seamer up in the zone.
Just pound that 2 seamer, and rack up the grounders.
Betemit grounds out to 2nd. 2 out.

Right. In July, that Mourneau shot probably ends up as a one bounce off the batters eye.

That 2-seamer by Hammel is a thing of beauty. Nice swinging K there via the 2-seamer to Burroughs.
Was disappointed to see Tillman struggle a bit yesterday. But I expect he will get going at some point. Hopefully Wada will continue to progress, and Britton will be ready to go by mid May / early June.
There appears to be actual rotation depth.

Speaking of FB movement, that's the biggest flaw of Tillman, IMO. Even when he had decent velo, there just wasn't a ton of movement and big league hitters would tee off on it.
Not that I put too much stock in 1 game anyway, but I kind of expect a guy like Tillman to not pitch as well in his AAA debut, fresh off the news of not making the big league club out of spring.

Speaking of MLB.TV, I just saw Luke Scott bat for the Rays in their powder blues today... It's so weird seeing him in TB now.
Was Scott batting 2nd? Saw that Maddon planned on using him there.

Nope, today he was batting 6th. I heard Maddon in an interview a couple weeks ago talking about how he will rarely have the same line-up order in consecutive games this year.
