Wow...just saw that commercial. A public stoning for those people wouldn't be punishment enough.
Just an incredible display of tastelessness and stupidity.
I watched the CNN movie last night about the French brothers filming the documentary about the firefighter who happened to get caught up in the first responders at WTC. I think I had seen it before, but it had been a long time. Everyone should check it out if they haven't already -- it's a great look at the unfolding of events that morning in real time.

The best part of that whole mattress thing was when they interviewed the lady afterward and she, all sobbing, said:
"We're Miracle Mattress, we make miracles happen!"
Like lady, you sell freaking beds. You're not curing smallpox or sending missions to Mars anything.
Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

To be fair, while the commercial isn't funny at all, I'd love to be a fly on the wall when someone thought up this idea and everybody just went with it. THAT is funny to me.

I mean, I guess there was always the chance of a Springtime for Hitler-type of response to the ad, except that The Producers is fiction.

My guess is those jacktards were too young to fully feel the impact of that day. They look like they could be 25-30 which would put them at anywhere from 10 to 15 that day.

Yesterday, saw this posted on Twitter from Michael Beschloss... caption says, "Photograph taken by Canadian tourist 16 years ago today, on September 10, 2001."

Feels like remembrance is higher this year than over the last several years... amazing to think it will be 20 years next year.

Sad isnt it.
Im rereading stories this year that was forgotten as time goes by and glad to be remember.
One policeman was in the station, signing his official retirement paperwork and had just turned in his badge, when the first plane struck. He asked for his badge, ran out and over to the World Trade center and was helping people out, but didnt make it out, himself.
True hero in every way, and just one of many.

I guess, in the midst of a much, much more substantial tragedy, it's hard to pause and remember a prior one.
