If the Ravens can keep the chains moving and run the football with success, it could be the difference in the win column this week.

It is a daunting pass offense, but the back end has the versatility to throw out Zibby to cover Gates. Even with Webb hurting, Jimmy Smith was drafted exactly to cover the big wide outs the Chargers bring to the table. If the Ravens front seven can get pressure, more important if the front 4 and a blitz can get pressure, the Ravens have a very good chance to win the game.

This not a easy task going out west, but this Ravens team is riding high in December by running the football and getting to the quarterback.

This game will be all about the Ravens front 4 getting pressure. SD will be starting pretty much "replacement level" OLineman on Sunday so the Ravens must get pressure without having to bring more than 5 guys so they can drop 2 LBs into coverage in the middle, especially since it is where Gates likes to roam.

Did we just share the same two cents? Guess we are hitting on something....

If the Ravens can get pressure using 4 player, as they have done a few times this season, they become a complete nightmare for any OC. It is one reason why McPhee is showing draft steal, Kruger finding his place, and Suggs becoming the defensive leader of this team. The play from Ngata and Cody has really made this whole rotation a solid "A" for the entire season.

Yea, this is going to be a game won at the lines.

Obviously that is usually the case but the Chargers have a ton of Oline injuries, so the Ravens need to be able to get pressure and get Phillip "the turnover machine" Rivers to give up the ball.

For the Ravens offense, SD is a top 10 defense and in the top 8 in pass defense..However, they are around 21st against the run. Pound the ball and eat the clock.

I am not worried about the travel to SD...Their "home field advantage" is nothing to worry about.

However, the Chargers are hitting their stride a little bit, albeit against poor teams.

Rivers has only lost 2 games in December, they have big, fast, physical WRs, a great TE(Ravens LBers are terrible in pass coverage) and 2 good RBs. I am not worried about the RBs running the ball but they are threats catching the ball and Matthews against our LBers, in the open field, is a mismatch in the Chargers favor.

With Harrison likely out and Ben and Pouncey hurting, this is likely the weekend that ends up deciding the AFC North. The Ravens need to win this game and hope for a Pitt loss.

It sucks that my fantasy QB is Rivers and my first playoff game is this weekend. Rivers is in for a nightmarish game on Sunday night, IMHO. I'd much prefer a Ravens #1 seed than winning my Fantasy league though. The timing of this just stinks though.
