Arguing over which of these beers is the "best" is like saying someone is the skinniest kid at fat camp.   Having said that Boh is still better than any of the light beers put out by the big three.

I mean it's all personal preference but when I drink Natty Boh I actually grimace at the after-taste.  Those other beers don't cause that.

 

There's a reason a six-pack costs like $4 at Town Hall in College Park.

I think I'd be able to tell which light beer was which in a blind taste test.  At-least with say Miller, Bud, Coors, Sam Adams, Amstel.

It's not even a Baltimore beer... (at-least now)... it's just good marketing, and most importantly to those who drink it... cheap.

Natty Boh out of a can is pretty harsh, especially when it gets above sub-zero temperature.

 

Out of a bottle or on tap it's similar to Budweiser. It's not a "light" beer in that it's got more calories and body that most light beers but I do think it tastes better than most macro beers.

 

Overall drink it occasionally since it does represent something even though it's not brewed here anymore.

 

Why people get so up in arms over it, on either side of the fence, is beyond me.

Boh is an extension of regional pride.  It sucks, but I feel a connection with home when I have one (I'm sipping on my second of the day right now).  

 

Additionally, I really loathe the people that limit themselves to Miller/Coors/Bud nonsense, because really you are a slave to their marketing machine, so when I drink cheap swill I prefer to stick to the one that at least has nostalgia as a byproduct.  I know its owned by Miller, but whatevs.

Yeah Coors light has no taste whatsoever. Not that I am highly rating Bud Lite or Miller Lite but they at least have something resembling a taste. Same with Natty Boh.

Boh is fine, it's cheap, and it at least has an association with the region. Nothing wrong with it.

Boh is a nostalgia thing that has been smartly marketed and packaged as retro hip to the kids. It's connection to the area is undeniable even if it hasn't been brewed here in years.

 

As a beer I'll only have them before an O's game, usually at Pickles where it is in fact cheap. Selling it for $7.50 at the ball game it loses all of it's appeal as an inexpensive thirst quencher.

 

As for it's taste it's nothing special. I do feel a bit nostalgic for it as my grandfather drank Bon exclusively from the old "stubby" bottles.

 

I do agree that if given the choice I'd drink that over anything Bud or Coors puts out.
