I think they're showing him a ton of respect by basically letting him decide when he wants to retire. I think he'll get one year deals until he's ready to retire. He's already been on record saying that Detroit is his last stop.

They weren't going to fire him(or shall I say not bring him back) after leading them to the WS. And I doubt they are going to let him retire on his own terms with the next bad season(s) he has.

I've heard Porch to STL is going to happen at some point. STL is too loaded with prospects to not make it happen, and the teams have been talking here and there. It's just a matter of when STL feels like it's time and then has to up the ante. Could have him for much less right now.
