He says it dates back to last summer.
An unknowing Dwight came in and hugged SVG minutes later and denied that he has and asked who the reporters source was.
This year hasn't been good for Dwight's PR.

I don't really get the rationale of SVG releasing that to the Press.
If Howard said that to Management, it has yet to move Management to that decision. Doesn't this just create further distraction for the team?
If I was Magic Management, I might be more inclined to fire Van Gundy now.

Perhaps. I just think he was tired of the charade. And the flip side is that now Dwight may relent since he doesn't want to come off as the bad guy and the Magic may not fire him either way because they have been denying that they've given Dwight that power.

I have no doubt Howard wants him gone.
Just wonder who he wants to come in though?

As someone who thinks very highly of Howard the player, I am disappointed that he'd apparently rather have a coach who won't be honest with him and challenge him like SVG does.
SVG is a very good coach so that's what I think is the likely reason for Howard thinking that.
It will also likely be difficult to get a big name coach with Howard not committed beyond next year.

Howard is a bit of a headcase. I mean great player and plays hard. Would take him on my team, but a bit of a head case.
