Seems like a weird premise to me. 
He averaged 20.3 ppg last year on 15.2 fg attempts per. He often looked like an all-star.
He's averaging 28.4 ppg right now, on 20.7 fg attempts per.  
No Harden = more shots, more shots = more points.
