1) If CJ didn't get hurt at the start of last year, I think we could have won 8 games.

 

2) We want to win our division, and have an opportunity to play for an ACC Championship in our last year in the league.

 

3) I've coached for 30 years, including time in the NFL, don't know if I've been around a player more dynamic than Diggs. Exciting to think about all the different ways to utilize him, and we believe we have play-makers around him.

 

4) Wes Brown suspended by the University, there is upcoming hearing. That will determine his eligibility.

 

5) Our focus is on the ACC with the players on campus, and the Big Ten with the recruits. With the recruits, looking at who they will play, etc.

All good points from Randy. I'll have to go back and watch the video that I missed. I agree with him on Point One, and I'd add that I believe we make a bowl game with Hills if he doesn't get hurt. This team can definitely compete for an ACC Championship as long as they stay healthy. It's exciting to think that the opener against FIU is just a month away.

Coach Edsall, how important is facilities and the upgrade to facilities in recruiting?

That's something that we know we have to upgrade and we're going to. We're in discussions and talks right now. We're putting together plans and renderings of new facilities. We know that for us to go and be on a competitive scale not only where we are in the ACC but moving forward to the Big Ten, we have to upgrade the facilities. We look forward to the continuing of that process and getting a shovel in the ground.

Coach Edsall,at what point in fall camp do you and the coaching staff have a good feel about what kind of team you will have?

That usually takes place probably about halfway through preseason practice. AS you know when you first start out, the first two days are helmets, then you get up to helmets and pads. Once we get through a scrimmage, we'll know who we are. We'll know how many freshmen you think can contribute. Probably around 15 practice opportunities. We'll have a good handle on the guys who will be performaing and how we can best use them. We'll get that squad in place and then see if anyone else improves to get out there as well.

Should we expect another set of new uniforms this season?

Only see one new set of uniforms. Then we'll worry about next year when the time comes. I think everybody will be really thrilled and excited and blown away when they see what we have this year.
