Dude he’s so dirty. That last goal yesterday where he just pulled up cold 1v3 and drilled it so hard into the top corner it didn’t matter if the keeper got a hand on it was just ice cubes.

No pretty about it, they were bad.  Seemed to be too worried about placement but had no power on those shots at all.  I also keep seeing players do that stutter step and just about stop before taking the kick  costing them momentum and power.

Yeah, my 14-year old has taken much better PKs lol.  And on that note, what was 3rd Croatian player doing?  I've seen guys be nonchalant about it but that was a bit extreme.

For like the 10th time in this thread I'll say that I dont watch football outside the WC. It very easy to see the clear difference in class of him  vs \other teams stars. At least as a finisher.

For like the 10th time in this thread I'll say that I dont watch football outside the WC. It very easy to see the clear difference in class of him vs \other teams stars. At least as a finisher.

Those top couple guys are in a league by themselves. Him, Messi, Ronaldo. We are kinda at that point where those older guys are going to start to phase out and some younger guys (like Mbappe) take over for the next decade or so. I’ve been waiting to see others break out. Kind of expected it out of Pulisic or Reyna to get to that tier but I dunno. There’s a kid in Germany that looks explosive too, he’s only like 19.

I actually don’t watch a ton of international stuff but some here or there. I like watching for the next generation though.

Pulisic won't ever be at that level for the simple reason that his shot isn't a rocket. He can finesse with the best but he just isn't going to take a shot from 25 yards out and score a galozo. Just not his game. Reyna has the physical tools. Will he develop the technique and mindset remains to be seen. But what we need way more than power is guys who can clinically finish.

Pulisic won't ever be at that level for the simple reason that his shot isn't a rocket. He can finesse with the best but he just isn't going to take a shot from 25 yards out and score a galozo. Just not his game. Reyna has the physical tools. Will he develop the technique and mindset remains to be seen. But what we need way more than power is guys who can clinically finish.

Yeah, Christian is more of a playmaker, he scores a decent clip, but I think that's more from having no one else besides Reyna than him being that elite.

I'd expect them to get by Croatia but either Argentina or the Netherlands is capable of beating them.  Prior to the Saudi Arabia game Argentina hadn't lost in 36 matches.  They hadn't lost since summer 2019.
