Former talk show host and mayor of Cincinnati, Jerry Springer, 79.
He was a carnival barker.
Part of me says, "Hey, people wanted to watch... so the niche was filled, and if he got rich by it... so be it."
Another part of me thinks aiming to the lowest common denominator, and exploiting people (even people who yearned to be exploited) is about as low as it gets.
That's my final thought.

I think a good chunk of his show was actually fake

I definitely think the "fights" were scripted. It was pure trash and I'll never understand the appeal. But to each their own.

I never got the attraction to his show, and I agree, it had to be 75% fake.
That said, RIP to the mayor of Cincinnati.

Dysfunction was at the core of Jerry Springer's show. You don't have to create a three-ring circus when it's already there night in and night out. That was the whole point of the show.

Rest in Peace Gordon.
Good one!
Sundown was always my favorite Lightfoot tune.

I probably should've sourced my statement so folks didn't think I came up with that on my own.
If songwriting is a science, Gordon Lightfoot would've been a lead researcher at Bell Labs (Canada Division).
Lightfoot was a great story teller through his music. A very talented man. RIP.
