BREAKING: Congress acts, bans Game of Thrones

Seriously though, this is one of the craziest things I've ever heard. Insane.

Reminds me of Green Street Hooligans, except to a much higher degree of insanity. Great movie, BTW.

Stabbing someone in front of thousands of people is probably a pretty bad idea regardless, when quite a few of them love (or potentially love) that person, it's a terrible idea. What a bizarre story.

As crazy as our fandom sports culture can be at times, I think Europe and in this case, South America is much worse. I wrote a paper on the soccer hooligan culture in college and why North American fans aren't as bad in college(this was about 7 years ago so I don't remember verbatim and definitely things have changed). In addition to the cultural differences, it's the proximity and sterile new stadiums which make them "safer." Outside of a few cities (NYC, Philly, maybe Boston), it's hard for fans to travel while many European stadiums are closer together. The bigger factor IMO is the sterileness of the new stadiums, you have cases like Lambeau where 90% of the stadium is sitting in the same bowl and can move around. Premium seating makes it easier control the crowds and segregates the classes. Not to mention new stadiums, price out many people who previously weren't.

Lincoln Financial Field was installed with a holding cell but they took it out since it wasn't being used unlike the Vet.

Sure you have some incidents like the Bryan Stow one and the SF-Oakland football preseason game (different crowd since many STH give away those tickets), but I believe these incidents are few/

When I was at Yankee Stadium this weekend, I had no problems being covered head to toe in O's gear. Everyone was friendly to me and I got some good ribbing, which I didn't mind, it came with the territory.
