Creighton forward Doug McDermitt will play the 2013-14 season as a walk-on, paying full tuition, to make a scholarship available for point guard Grant Gibbs after Gibbs received an extra year of eligibility.

Yeah, Gibbs is a sixth-year senior. Reminds me of Gerry McNamera, who I swear played for Syracuse for 8 years.

Either way, cool thing to do by McDermott. The family can definitely afford paying a year of tuition. This news, along with G"Town's Greg Whittington out for the year, has me predicting the Blue Jays finish 2nd in the Big East behind Marquette.
