This past week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Terps football radio analyst Tim Strachan about the Maryland Terrapins football program. He answered a wide variety of questions including the offensive line, quarterback situation, and the move to the Big Ten Conference. I'd like to thank Mr. Strachan for his gracious professionalism and extremely insightful responses.

So Zack, what are some of your biggest takeaways here?

While most of the information Tim gave us was already stuff that I was expecting, I think the biggest thing for people to realize is how well Randy Edsall and his coaches are doing to make this team a team. They've all bought in 100% to his system, and the results of that were evident even last season. It really seems like, after a tough 1st year, this squad has hit their groove. They're comfortable with each other and are returning a large amount of players in 2013 (especially on offense). The coaching staff is unchanged, which is huge for the program.

Like Strachan, I thought Brown had the most all-around talent.... but at-least it was a position with a lot of depth.

Luckily, Brandon Ross and Albert Reid both put on a ton of muscle in the off-season and will be much stronger inside the tackles. I loved what I saw from both at the Red-White Spring Game. They'll be fine at the position, and if one gets hurt the other can certainly go 25-30 carries. Johnathan Thomas will add a really interesting dynamic next season when he comes in as a part of the Class of 2014. I'd also look for Stefon Diggs to get a good number of handoffs in the jet sweep this season, and I'd also expect C.J. Brown and Diggs to run read-option off of that sweep play.
