Fair enough, I also get the sense that the O's/Ravens are the clear top two teams of many on here with the Terps being a distant third.

When all are at their best, I'd go Orioles, Terps basketball, Ravens, Terps football, in terms of which I most passionately root for and care about.  Terps Football is the only one that doesn't really bum me out when they are bad.  I'm a pretty fair-weather (though still watch/follow all the games and go to a couple a year) Terps football fan.

I still have O's and Ravens ahead of Terps basketball, but it's really those three very closely together, with the Caps slightly behind that, and then Terps football a distant 5th, but still there.

O's are clear my #1, then CU football/basketball (which really means basketball because football is unwatchable and many of the games conflicted with the O's playoff run last year; in past years I'd watch CU football over meaningless O's games), Terps (mostly basketball) growing up were my #2 (they've slid to #3), Ravens #3, after that Wizards/Caps.

Forgive my ignorance, but which CU are you talking about?

I'm pretty much solely an O's/Terps guy at this point.  I used to be a pretty passionate Minnesota Vikings fan but haven't followed them in years, and have become a (very) casual Ravens fan.

I've tried getting into both the NHL and NBA but it's just hard when you don't really have a team to root for.  I'm one of those weird people that just can't root for DC teams.

Colorado, I went there. Sorry I should've just spelled it out instead of the short-handed acronym.

O's are my number 1 team, but man that Super Bowl win was amazing. It doesn't get better than winning it all. 2nd is probably Game 1 of the ALDS. As someone too young to remember any other Orioles playoff games, that was the first one of my lifetime. 3rd was probably the Wild Card game against Texas and 4th has to be the Denver game.

A couple games nobody has mentioned yet:

Seemed like every statue game last year was amazing. Especially Cal's and Palmer's.

Opening Day this season was a great atmosphere. Return of the playoff team. Chris Davis hits his 4th home run in 4 days.

The Torrey Smith game against New England after his brother died was definitely memorable.

Don't think anyone had mentioned either of these back to back games that I went to, but both were great wins to witness in person:

9/12-The Manny play game as well as a walkoff right after by Nate to drive in Manny.

9/13-Beat the Rays in 14 with a Manny walkoff single that I had a great view from the front row in LF.

I also went to Manny's debut, which was cool, especially in retrospect with how great he's been.

So basically, all hail Manny!

Bump.

2013 wasn't 2012 for either the O's or Ravens, but some good memories nonetheless from Dickerson's walkoff to Justin Tucker's performance in Detroit highlighted by the 61 yarder, and let's not forget Maryland's thrilling victory over VTech.

Top three personal sports moments of 2013:

1. Ravens win Super Bowl
2. Xavier invited to Big East
3. Chris Davis' emergence and 50 HR year for Orioles

Kind of hard for me to separate the moments (Ravens winning SB) from achievements (Chris Davis 50 homer season)

This is off the top of my head, I reserve the right to amend it.

1)Ravens winning the SB

2)Mile High Miracle

3)CU beating KU

4)Chris Dickerson's walkoff

5)The roller-coaster win over the Vikings

6)CU's revenege of UofA on Valentine's Day

7)Emergence of Manny Machado

8)Chris Davis Opening Day grand slam

9)CU making it back to the dance

10)Orioles all-stars

11)Beating Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving

12)Justin Tuckers night in Detroit

13)Terps beating VT

14)Chris Davis 50 homer season

15)Maryland beating Duke in the ACC Tourney

Honorable mention: Auburn's Chris Davis returning the field goal attempt to the house. Not even an Auburn fan, but that was a lot of fun.

Dishonorable mention: The refs in Tucson on January 4.

The thread about how losing is easier to write about brought up a great point by Mackus:

This has been an -excellent- 18 months for the Orioles and Ravens, Ibanez, Lee Evans and Cundiff notwithstanding. The question here is...what's your favorite game over this timeframe?

For me (and where I watched them, for no reference other than my own):

#1: Ravens at Denver, AFC Divisional game (Watched at: Mile High)

#2: Orioles at Texas, Wild Card game (Watched at: Bar in Towson)

#3: New York at Orioles, Divisional game #2 (Watched at: Oriole Park)

#4: Ravens vs Niners, Super Bowl (Watched at: Arcos at Fells)

#5: New York at Orioles, Thursday, September 6th (when Jones, Reynolds and Davis all homered) (Watched at: Home)

#6: Ravens at Patriots, AFC Championship Game (Watched at: Bateman's in Reisterstown)

#7: Ravens vs. Tigers: Dickerson! (Watched at: Home)

A couple more to include now that the year's about out:

Ravens @ Detroit, because Tucker

Ravens vs Vikings, just for the ending. That was epic, and something I'll likely never see again.

UNC vs Louisville: A depleted team with very few expectations goes absolutely clinic on the #3 team in the nation.

UNC vs Michigan State: See above.

Also, in addition to Auburn/Alabama, FGCU/Georgetown should absolutely be on the list of "games I didn't care about, but were just a joy to watch".

Good call on Dunk City, I probably could've included their Sweet 16 run. Game 6 of the NBA Finals as well.

Top 10 for me this year:

1. Ravens win Super Bowl

2. Ravens beat Broncos in OT

3. Maryland beats Virginia Tech in OT

4. Auburn beats Alabama

5. Maryland beats Duke (regular season)

6. Orioles beat Rays (Wieters' walk-off grand slam, I was there in person)

7. Maryland beats Duke (ACC Tournament)

8. Maryland beats Virginia (missed FG by Cavs)

9. Orioles beat Tigers (Dickerson's walk-off)

10. Ravens beat Lions (Justin Tucker's 61-yarder)

As for my team rankings, here goes:

1. Terps Football

2. Terps Basketball

3. Orioles Baseball

4. Ravens Football

Definitely Game Six. Great call.

FGCU/GU was better than their second round match, only for the "DUDE, WHAT THE HELL" factor. But absolutely.

If you go back and watch the highlights of that game, if someone told me that GU was the 15 seed, I'd absolutely have believed you.

I'm one of those who usually hates to include multiple games/events in a "moment." But a #15 seed making it to the S16, I'll make an exception. Truth be told, I was in the car during the Gtown game, so that probably effects my lowballing it here.

Let me just start out by saying as I'm much more of an O's fan than a Ravens game. I'd say given everything being significant underdogs/the beatdown in Baltimore not too far before, I think the Ravens winning in Denver was the "best game."

In terms of my personal level of enjoyment, with the assistance of this list, in this order:

1)ALDS Game 2- I watched at OPACY, so I'm more biased with this game

2)WC Game- watched at my parents place, lived/died with every pitch it seemed. Great to make the "real playoffs."

3)Ravens at Denver Divisional playoffs- still can't believe they won, one of the best NFL games I've ever watched

4)Super Bowl- thought they win, they did.

5)Sept 6- Don't forget it was Cal's statue day as well

6)AFC Champ Game

7)ALDS Game 1- Yes it was a loss, but it quite something to wait out the rain/sit through the cold for the first playoff game in Baltimore in 17

8)September 30- kind of breaking the rules here since it wasn't a game per se. Clinching a playoff spot was great, just wish that they could've celebrated at home instead of in the air.

9)Dickerson

I'm sure there's others I left off the list, just going by what Epic provided. I'm sure more hardcore Ravens fans are going to list playoff game against Indy pretty high, since it was Ray's last home game.

Epic- That's awesome you went to that game at Mile High, I can only imagine what it was like.

New #1 after today if we could extend the date. I'd probably rank yesterday's game between 3/4. Of course, I could add some highlights from this year's regular season as well.
