I think this is a big test to measure US soccer interest, pretty big worldwide tournament, US isn't in it.

Tahiti is in the Confed Cup.  That's all you really need to know about it.  Despite all the hysterics when the USA beat Spain a few years ago, the Confed Cup is not that big of a deal, outside the fact that it allows the host of the next World Cup a dry run, when it really does not matter.

SI: Neymar, Brazil beat Mexico
http://sportsillustr.../?sct=sc_t11_a6

Brazil moves to the Semi-Finals with their win over Mexico.

Brazil opened with a 3-0 win over Japan, while Mexico lost 2-1 to Italy. Japan and Italy play the other Group A match later on Wednesday.

Italy also moved to the semi's, with a win over Japan.

Tahiti is playing Spain, and even with Spain resting their starters - a 10 goal win is not out of the question.

Nigeria and Uruguay should be good.

I don't follow soccer at all, but the coach for Tahiti said they had no chance and estimated Spain might score 15-20 goals.

I've never heard a coach in any sport give that pregame outlook.

They only have 1 pro, and are going up against one of the two or three best teams in the World.

I watched a good part of their game vs. Nigeria the other day. Nigeria is talented, but aren't Spain.... Tahiti was way out-classed, but it was fun seeing how much the game mattered to them, and the obvious pride they had representing their nation.

Spain beat Tahiti 10-0. Uruguay beat Nigeria 2-1.

Today it is Spain vs. Nigeria, and Uruguay vs. Tahiti.

Wow, Italy/Spain going to PK's after 122 minutes of scoreless action. This should be exciting.

Only very (very) casually watch soccer, but the 3rd place game between Uruguay and Italy that's currently on (tied at 2) has been excellent. Enough excitement to keep my attention, at least.
