I'm a pretty big fan of Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Schindlers List, ET, Lion King, and Up.

I loved the Garden State soundtrack, mainly because that's how I found out about The Shins. But probably not a good candidate for what you're looking for. I'll give this some more thought.
