You can obviously see the local influence of both rosters, but you can also see how the game is growing - when you see where some of the players come from.

First of all, congrats to Maryland fans and my sincerest thanks to the Terps for removing dook from the competition.

Second, what a great showcase for lacrosse in the state of Maryland with two local schools battling for the championship!

And third, how great that you have a team (Loyola) who has never won a national championship against a team (Maryland) that won its only championship in 1973. And Maryland has been national runner-up 7 times since (Loyola once).

Personally, I'm rooting for Loyola, but I'm glad it's been a season without a win by dook, Syracuse, or Virginia, and I'll just root for a great game no matter who wins.

Congratulations to the Loyola Greyhounds on their first Men's Lacrosse national championship. If it couldn't be Hopkins, at least keep the hardware on Charles Street!
