I guess they already gave up on Josh Vitters?
They also have Baez, Vogelbach, Alcantra, and Brett Jackson. They are loaded with position prospects.

Yeah he kinda busted, and is TRYING to salvage something these days, but looks like AAAA at best.
He's only 23...Thought they'd go pitching.

1-4 MIN takes Kohl Stewart, best HS arm in the draft. Couple years away, big sturdy TEX kid.
Posted 06 June 2013 - 06:29 PM
Nah, he's not coming off an injury or playing for a community college

Yea, surprised they went with a position guy..

Yeah but he's been playing professionally for 6 years now, if he hasn't got it figured out by now, he's not going to.
I thought pitching too, I had even heard Stewart for them at one point, but I guess they are trying to get their core arrival time synced up so they looked college.

I guess it depends on how much you buy in on those guys. Some are higher on them than others, they are pretty meh, for me.

Fair enough.
Hope they don't regret it in three years.

I think general rule is 90% of teams will regret SOMETHING about each draft 3 years later. This thing is such a different animal than other sports.

I've heard Moran here for a long time.

Ha. Yea, that's true. I looked back at the last 15/20 years of drafts earlier today, and it's amazing how many busts were selected ahead of stars..

This Frazier kid looks impressive.

1-5 CLE takes Clint Frazier. Little misdirection since they've been so in on Moran, but a great pick either way. Frazier is a great ball player, just don't ask me about him off the field.

Uh-oh...troublemaker?

Yeah he's going to be a baller.

I won't get into it on here

I really like Baez. Not a huge fan of Vogelbach and Jackson and haven't seen a whole lot of Alcantra. As the 4th - 7th best position position prospects in the system though, that's a hell of a system.

Frazier seems like a beast, but I'd imagine he's a party animal.

Damn...seems like a nice kid during interview.
