Would be interesting if they closed out the finale with the Hound hitting Arya in the head..and it just fades to black like being knocked out.

I think the reactions to that would be a good way to end the season..since most would be confused as Hell

Yep, either that, or he hits her and starts riding off, and the camera pans down to show her mom laying face down bleeding in the water and that's what they end on.

That's why I thought they'd do the other wedding first, and have that scene be the final of the 3 things Stannis sent

There really are a bunch of great cliffhangers they could end on.

I don't think they'd change the order of the weddings.  A big part of Joffrey's is them celebrating that Robb is dead and Tyrion trying to keep Sansa from having to hear some of the sordid details.

So the books are as addictive as the TV show.

I just finished reading the Rains of Castamere section of book 3. Very disappointed and sad that they died.

No one can ever complain that Martin won't kill off major characters. He does it with ease.

As far as the book-show comparisons, so far there have been some changes that I've noticed, but I think for the most part the TV show goes with the books.

From books 1-3 (up to where I am), what are the biggest changes that you were disappointed in?

Random facts about Game of Thrones that I found on another site:

Robb Stark (Richard Madden) is dating Jenna Louise Colemam from Dr Who.

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) is a natural blonde.

Peter Dinklage got Lena Headey her role. The two became friends back in 2006 when they met on the Toronto set of “Ultra" and led her to the Kingdoms of Westeros.

Shae (Sibel Kekilli) was a porn star by the name of "Dilara" and when her parents found out, they broke off all contact with her.  Before/after nose job:

George R.R. Martin has revealed how he plans to end the series to producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff in case he dies before he finishes.

George R.R. Martin sent Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) a letter that said, “Congratulations on your marvelous performance, everyone hates you.”

The Dothraki Language was developed for the TV series by the linguist David J. Peterson. He has developed over 3000 words, and even gave tribute to his wife Erin - the verb "erinat" (to be good) and the noun "erinak" (lady, kind one) - and cat Okeo (friend)

Kahl Drogo (Jason Momoa) was named the 1999 Hawaii Model of the Year and got his breakout on Baywatch Hawaii, where he beat out over 1000 other people.

Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen)  is Lily Allen's little brother and "Alfie" is about him.

Viserys Targaryen (Harry Lloyd) is the great-great-great grandson of Charles Dickens.

I'm gonna be in Key West until Monday night at a bachelor party so I'm gonna miss the episode airing and all the crazy reactions.

So... are we allowed to start posting about Robb's death in the non-spoilers thread when it happens Sunday night or should we allow a 3-hour grace period for the west coast viewers?

Of course, that's their problem if they read the thread prior to watching the new episode. ;)

I'd wait for a TV only to make the first post. Can't wait to see all the reactions.

I asked the same thing over on OH, and Bart (AKA: TheWedge) said the same thing. Sound advice. Thanks!

I actually don't think it's gonna be that much outrage. They haven't spent nearly enough time building them up as beloved characters. Now if it were Tyrion and Sansa that got killed, it might be a little different. I think with Robb and Catelynn it's just kinda, meh, ok now who's the good guy?

I'd prefer Robb as a major character than Sansa. Maybe that's just me though.

Nah I agree. But they've spent so much time making you feel awful for sansa so it would be more impactful.

Most of the changes that really got under my skin happened in Season 2.  Most glaring was how poor of a job  they did with Jon last year,.  Between having Ygritte escape (as opposed to him letting her go) to him getting lost, to his rushed story and slaying of Qhorin they just did a really bad job with Jon.   Having said that they've done a much better job with Jon this year.

Dany's story in Qarth was pretty bad too.  I know that she doesn't do much there in the book, but that made up story of her dragons being captured was weak and jusut made her come off as a whiny brat.  Like Jon they've also done a much better job with her character this season.

Agree completely Duff. Jeremy - I think Robb is more developed in the show than in the books. It's gonna hurt. Especially the manner in which Cat bites it. I hated her in the books and still was visibly shaking after that chapter. Had to reread the last few pages a few times to believe it.

I did the same exact thing.  I read that chapter and then I got to the end and was like "did that just happen",  reread it and when I realized that it did just happen I threw the book across the  room.

I put my kindle down and walked around my house aimlessly for a while. Sat down in front of the book in silence until I finally decided to keep reading.

Excited for tonight's episode. Apparently that week off didn't kill the momentum.
