Rosenthal: How Diamondbacks landed Zack Greinke in 330 minutes

That whole thing sounds completely nuts... it sounds less like a well-reasoned business decision, and more like a few guys in a casino after they had a few drinks...

According to that account, they'd already decided to not even talk to Greinke's agent... but then it happened anyway because one day at lunchtime, not long after Cueto turned down their $120M,  one of their FO guys basically said to another one, "What the hell... let's do it."... and the second guy said, "Yeah... what the hell... let's do...."   So then, within just the few hours between lunchtime and quitting time, they spent more than a fifth of a $Billion...

Brutal. What a fun player he is to watch.

Hate to see this.

Gotta think he is out until at least the AS break, right?

He was 8th in WAR in all of baseball last year.

looks like it's about the end of the line for Chip Hale. They went all in this year, and it just hasn't worked.

Dont really get how Pollock,Greinke, Peralta, Shelby Miller, and De La Rosa getting hurt is his fault, but whatever.

Think about all the O's managers who's "fault" it was from 1998-2010. (I agree)

D-Backs are letting teams known Shelby Miller is available. Wow. That trade is arguably as bad as the Bedard deal and might be worse depending on how the prospects the Braves got do.
