ESPN: Realignment would mean 4 divisions

http://espn.go.com/n...ons-source-says

The new plan calls for divisional playoffs, not conference playoffs as the NHL currently has. The division winner with the most regular-season points will play the lowest-seeded wild-card team in the first round, with the other division winner playing the other wild-card team.

The four-conference plan is better.

I think it's the same plan as they wanted to put through last year, but will go through for next season. I hadn't heard the playoff part of it though....Top 3 teams from each division making it, leaving 2 WC's in each conference. Makes sense, but it's interesting nevertheless.

Anything is better than what they've got right now. When you have the Winnipeg Jets playing in the South East division something's wrong.

Nice. Good to see the Caps joining a division with more geographic rivals. Also, screw the Blue Jackets!

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
