Big blow for the Crew for sure. Already a tough match to hold down the Sounders attack. Missing two mids will be a problem. Next man up. We'll see how they do.
But good to see we got the final matchup I was hoping for.

Well Columbus pulled it off. Amazing they shut down the Seattle attack especially missing two starting mids. But it was at a very special place, Mapfre Stadium, which has hosted a couple of very memorable matches for the USMNT. Dos y Cero anyone! And it was likely the last playoff game to be played there as the Crew's new stadium is set to open next summer.
Well done Crew!

MLS training camps all open up by March 8. Atlanta has already opened up to prepare for CONCACAF Champions League. We'll have a full preseason review out around the first of April.

Hard to imagine relegation ever coming to MLS given the investments which have been made into the soccer specific stadiums, plus the tv deals.

Excellent report on the status of DC United. And what a mess the entire TV sports market is going to be. I have a 4K Samsung TV that is only 4 years old. Got the CBS streaming just fine. But with the switch to Paramount+ this TV isn't supported. What a joke.

ESPN: If LAFC's Vela, Rossi are to win an MLS Cup, the time to make good on the hype is now
I think there's some truth to this. But this is the problem with judging individuals in sport where players move around a lot, and every other league crowns its champion via the league standings. The other leagues that use playoffs generally play two seasons a year and have fewer teams.
So yes it would be great and Vela and Rossi can win an MLS Cup to back their reputations. But the route to doing so is so much harder than in other leagues because of the randomness of the playoffs and the number of teams in the league. It's fair to remember they already captured a Supporters' Shield in 2019.
In my dream world, MLS would adopt the split-season schedule like they have in most of Concacaf ... maybe shifted slightly more the summer with a break for the World Cup/Gold Cup/Euros/June qualifying window ... then it would be fairer to judge players in MLS by silverware.
