SI: In jailhouse interviews, Nevin Shapiro still talking about Miami, NCAA
This line is an absolute classic:
The veracity of his story about Hurricanes athletics is the thing he clings most tightly to. As he wrote in April to Jonathan Duncan, Lach's interim replacement as head of enforcement, "For the NCAA to come even remotely close to botching this investigation is disgraceful and I will not allow my credibility to be destroyed by your group's incompetence."
Says the convicted Ponzi-schemer and admitted liar.

Miami Hurricanes to learn fate
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Decision day has finally arrived for the Miami Hurricanes.
The NCAA will unveil the findings of its investigation into Miami athletics and any proposed sanctions on Tuesday morning, about 2½ years after the probe began and more than eight months after saying the Hurricanes did not "exercise institutional control" over former booster and convicted felon Nevin Shapiro's interactions with the football and men's basketball programs.
Kudos to the NCAA for another expedient and efficient investigation wrapped up.

The Hurricanes will lose three scholarships annually over the next three years, the source told Schad.
Additionally, former Miami men's basketball coach Frank Haith will be suspended five games and former assistant Jorge Fernandez will receive a two-year show-cause penalty, a source told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Figured I'd just mention it here....Nevin Shapiro had his sentence commuted by Joe Biden today. While his prison sentence had nothing to do with his NCAA transgressions at Miami, it's wild to look back at that whole episode and realize that a decade later pretty much none of it would raise an eyebrow.

Just like SMU getting the death penalty and now making the playoff their first year in a power conference since the SWC died lol
