Like I said with Lance last night, I'm not sure what Teo could've done or said that would've been met with close to universal acceptance. People are always going to skeptical of these types of things. Just on the surface though, giving an off-camera interview with other people in the room besides him/the interviewer, isn't going to satisfy most. Where he stands the most to lose is on Madison Avenue, I still don't think hurts his draft stock that much (unless there's something we don't know, especially if it's criminal).

This thing could have gone so many different ways, and I wouldn't be surprised by any of them.

However this plays out, it's safe to say that Te'o has already secured his place in Notre Dame's grand tradition of hooey.

I'm thinking about writing a children's book about this whole fiasco. How does this sound for a working title?

We talked about this on my podcast. I'm not sure if that was the right way to do it, but every college athlete should have to take a class on the effects of social media.

When I was an university employee and this was back in 2007, as part of our training, they made a big deal what we put on Facebook and maybe Myspace (other social media wasn't as prominent). And I wasn't exactly known around campus, they just wanted us representing the university well at all times. It's somewhat common sense, but not everyone follows it.
