When I was younger and was watching Maryland Football at the stadium or on television, I would remember seeing certain players and would think that they would be good in the NFL. Those players included QB Matt Ryan when he was with Boston College, and RB Michael Turner, when he was with Northern Illinois. I'll have no problem admitting that there were some players that I thought would do alright in the NFL, but didn't pan out for some reason or another. They were ex-Terp WR Steve Suter (hoping he would be a ST guy) and QB Bryan Randall from Virginia Tech. Thought for a mobile QB, he had potential to be a starter.
Anybody else want to share what college players they watched growing up would be good? Or players they thought would be good but never were.

It was probably more wishful thinking than anything, but especially after that 2001 season I thought for sure Bruce Perry was going to have a meaningful NFL career. He did get in a couple games for the Eagles, but he was always hurt after that big year at Maryland.

I forgot about Bruce Perry. He was a good RB for Maryland. It was a shame that he didn't have a great career in the NFL. Another name I forgot about was Erin Henderson. I thought for sure he would have a great career in the NFL. Maybe one better than his brother E.J. There still might be time.It was probably more wishful thinking than anything, but especially after that 2001 season I thought for sure Bruce Perry was going to have a meaningful NFL career. I was so excited to see JaMarcus Russell play in the NFL. I thought he was going to absolutely tear it up. I'm a bad judge of talent.
