Meant to reply to this other day but got sidetracked. Fully agree with you about the Stadium, the Gym needs a serious overhaul or a new building built too. Every academic building has got something new so it's time to update the athletic facilities. Salisbury has some of the best D3 athletic teams in the country it's not asking too much that the facilities see some updates/improvements.
In other news I went to the the Salisbury-Stevenson game yesterday with my dad and a friend. It wasn't much of a game at all. Salisbury looked sloppy on offense, not much movement and most of their shots came from the outside. The defense seemed off their game as well. Countless times they weren't sliding when someone got beat which lead to many easy scoring opportunities for Stevenson. Stevenson's faceoff man was a beast, he abused the Gulls in the X all night. Must've won 80% of the draws.
Yeah, Stevenson had Salisbury's number this year. Hopefully the Gulls can bounce back next year. It seems like they'll win a couple titles, be off for a year or two, then win another title or two. Meanwhile, the women won the national title on Sunday - second one for them.
I think the athletic facilities might get a more serious look after work gets going/is completed on the Academic Commons, which is supposed to open in 2016. That building will be bringing the library and the Nabb Center (the historical research place on Power Street by the parking office) together, with other things, and will be where Carruthers is now. The facilities master plan was last updated in '09, and athletic facility upgrades were on the back end of it.
