Says McCartney isn't going to ape Cobain, but it will still be cool to see Noveselic and Grohl jam together again.

This should be cool. Also a pretty cool lineup for the event overall, although I could do without Kanye West. I saw it would be streamed online, are any tv stations picking it up?

Dammit I wish that was intentional! Nothing like falling ass backwards into something intelligent

REM is my all time favorite, so Stipey was a pleasant surprise. He looks, in a word, "healthy".
AKA: Fat.

That was great...I'm not a big Billy joel guy, but thought he was really good.

LOL, I commented that he might have given up his vegan lifestyle.
Was still good to see them.
Weird that the Stones got two songs while opening for Alicia Keys.
Roger Daltry should keep his shirt on.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Great to see him, and Chris Martin (though I don't love Coldplay) is a terrific performer for sure.
REM will do a reunion tour in a few years I'm sure. I saw a spolier list online somewhere yesterday, and there was no mention of Stipe or anoyne playing with Martin for that matter.
Agree on the Stones, also "I was born in a crossfire hurricane, and I howled at my Ma in the driving rain"..Um, what? Wrong benefit for Jumpin Jack Flash, boys.
I'm old so I'm not as familiar with Alicia Keys' music, but she's beautiful and can really belt it out. I was impressed.

The rest of the Stones, sure, are old as crap and look like hell, but Mick still rocks and for a guy pushing 70 what he does at shows is pretty damn impressive. And despite looking like death, Keith can still rock out those open G tuned chords with the few remaining marbles he's got rolling around in his head.

Got this on the DVR, haven't watched yet. Looking forward to it.

I thought they sounded pretty good, too. The way Mick is able to dance around the stage, at his age, is really impressive. Hell, it would be relatively impressive if he were 20 years younger.
