Averaging 100 MPH with the FB. Very interested to see how long the arm can hold up maintaining that sort of velo. Ridiculous k%, but only average chase%.

I just put a bet in on Skenes to win the CY at +1500. Obviously if Mis doesnt breakdown or have a setback hes very likely to win but these are spots where you can find value. Especially at +1500

What's insane is that it's the easiest hundred you'll ever see. His max effort is more like 103-105. When you're built as long as he is, and velocity comes that easy, is the risk of injury lower because he just doesn't have to worry about throwing as hard as he can?

The Brewers are the new gold standard for pitching development, and the things literally every one of their starters have in common is that they build up from a great fastball - usually a 4 seamer. They don't seem to worry about developing guys with 5 or 6 offerings more often than not. Have a great fastball and a good breaking pitch and go get outs.

You see it other places where teams are having success witb young starters too.

Chase Burns - great fastball, good slider, that's basically it.

Cam Schlittler basically only throws variations of a fastball (4seam, cutter, sinker).

Payton Tolle - great fastball. Mixes in a breaking ball.

Are the O's doing this? It makes total sense that you try to develop young pitching by giving them one or two excellent pitches and then developing out from there, rather than trying to give them a wide arsenal of pitches that they really don't throw very well.
