One thing about Arrighetti. He relies heavily on breaking pitches. When they're on he's incredibly hard to hit. When they're not he can't find the plate and gets crushed. Very binary pitcher.

Gunnar may be the single most disappointing player of the year on any team. Good lord he's just so obviously lost.

It's getting close to the point where I might consider sending him down just to get his confidence back, but they don't have anybody else to play SS. It's just sad at this point what they've done to him.

He's actually fixed his strikeout problem, not that it has helped his overall numbers.

I'm cherry picking the date, but he was at 31.5% K-rate thru May 6th and it's been 17.1% since which would be by far his career lowest (21.0% in 2025). Interestingly, he's had exactly a 690 OPS in both time periods, so whether he was stroking out a ton or barely at all, the overall production has been equally disappointing.

It's been well documented that they prioritize launch angle over everything else. Is it more likely a guy who put up over 14 WAR over the previous 2 seasons just forgot how to play baseball?
