I think he's had a pretty rough run of mistakes recently. Not as bad/weird as that week or so in 2024, but still obnoxious. He's made 4 errors in the last 8 games. 6 in the last 20 and 8 in the last 28. That's just errors and not non-error mistakes that are more subjective.
He'd made 4 errors in 66 games prior to that.
Only guesses as to the cause, but we've seen these lapses from him before. Worried we see more before he cleans it up again and gets back to a fine enough baseline.
He may always be a "what could have been" or "what happened?" cautionary tale.
