Who goes at the deadline?

Gunnar
Adley
O'Neill
Holliday
Rogers
Bradish
Helsley
Ward
What can we realistically expect back? Do we even trust Elias to make these kinds of moves? He's going to want to keep pushing to win for the sake of his job, and I don't know if Rubenstein has the stones to do what needs to be done.

Probably anyone not named Alonso, Basallo (because of the contract), and Baz.
You can probably add Ward to your list.

Definitely Rogers, even as a pending FA he may be the most valuable piece if he keeps up the results. Helsley and Ward seem likely to go too.
Elias will keep "his guys."

We'll see where they are by the middle/end of May.

Done.
Come on though. We don't have to wait. We've seen this movie before. We know how it ends.

I don't want Elias anywhere near this team anymore, and if (when) they sell, they need to hire someone else to do it. He won't.Definitely Rogers, even as a pending FA he may be the most valuable piece if he keeps up the results. Helsley and Ward seem likely to go too.

After nine games we're already talking about deadline deals? Really?

171 games.
This is last year's team. We know who they are.

Since July 1, 2024, they have gone 116-135. Some of the faces have changed along the way, but nothing about the performance has. This is not a trend, this is who they are under this leadership.

Its one guy who started and will dominate the thread. He's on a bender

I actually thought the record would be worse than that
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Aside from this year's start, they were really only awful (record-wise) in April and May of last year. The rest of the time they've hovered near .500.

I'm going to add a twist on the thread's premise, and say that I would still extend Rogers, even if they hold a fire sale. They aren't entering into another rebuild. Retaining good starting pitching is the best way to kick the reboot into the new Lift-Off
See what I did there ![]()
Good news! I saw a dog today.

You can’t be serious. The 1978 Orioles won 90 games. Context matters.

The 1978 Orioles started out 0-5. And aren't we just about two years removed from an Oriole team that won 90 games?

C’mon. I didn’t even get into the fact that the hallmark of the Orioles in that era was playing sound, fundamental baseball and drilling it into their players at the earliest stages….the complete antithesis of their recent teams. We have been watching the same, stale act from this team for over a year and a half and counting. How much longer does it take before we accept this is who they are?
