Coming off a .684 OPS season Tyler O’Neill has a hell of a lot to prove if he even thinks he deserves to appear in 140 games, regardless of health.

If TON is even remotely healthy for a period, huge if, I think he's more than capable of still producing. A lot of people dismiss the advanced stuff, but he still had some encouraging advanced metrics. Luckily, we won't be relying on him to be a main weapon this year.
If he stays in the lineup for 115 games, I'd expect him to be productive offensively.

Not as much to prove as his competition for playing time. It will all work itself out, but the writing has been there the last few weeks. Os are gonna start out playing him against RHP. Not gonna be the weak side of a platoon like some assumed heading into camp
Agree he'll get plenty of opportunity at the start, simply by default. Hopefully before too long the competition will force the situation where he either earns it or sits (and that's when he isn't on the IL).

ONeill just got pulled after 2 ABs today. Lol. Hes the only one pulled so far. Was it planned or did he feel discomfort. With TON you never know
Just like you said, it'll work itself out. ![]()

On a brighter note....while I'm not watching, based on the stat line Baz appears to be having a nice outing.

Basallo got a ricochet off the bat and square into his right knee, pad. He stayed in but is definitely walking gingerly.
Offense looks like it’s just going through the motions, other than The Polar Bear who just missed a HR to dead center that would have gone out if it was warmer.
Everyone is ready to just get to OD!

Interesting, Adley is now in catching for Bassitt. Either he is going to be his personal catcher, or Basallo’s knee is bothering him after getting drilled. Assume it’s the former and not the latter as all the starters are out now.
Hooefully precautionary. May have started to swell. Wanted to get treatment ASAP

Adley was only in for the 2 innings so hopefully all is well.
