How much does an authentic jersey go for these days? $200? I've finally reached the age where I feel weird wearing a jersey with another dude's name on it. Maybe I could go for a blank one, though.

I got one (obv fake) from a dude on FBook marketplace for $100

I would imagine an actual authentic goes for more than $200

I miss the days of the almost legit $35 Chinese jerseys. I imagine they're still out there.

Welcome to the club.

When I was in the AF I traveled to Korea several times and would load up on all kinds of knockoff gear. Had a Cal Jr jersey custom made for like $20. The material was low grade but the work was excellent.

Ive never been a jersey of a player guy. Nothing against it. Ive never judged or been critical of it. It feels normal to see it and be surrounded by it at games but Ive never been into it personally. I get why thats the go to attire while at the game tho.

If I were to do it now, it would def be someone my age or older than me. So a retired player.

Right. I've got a Jim Plamer and Eddie Murray that I bought years ago. That seems appropriate. Don't think I'd buy a current player jersey, but wouldn't judge anyone who does.

I've never worn a player jersey of any sport. Just isn't me. But I admit I like seeing them on a Friday before a Ravens game when I'm out and about.

What’s the difference in taking valuable time out of your life to be fanatics of a sports team - and wearing a jersey of said sports teams with one of the players you root for on your back? I don’t get it. But no judgement either way. Just genuinely curious why it bothers some of you?

Ive just never been a jersey guy but I get it.

At midlife, I dont really want to be wearing a jersey of someone half my age. Thats just me though. I dont judge people who do. But again, part of this for me is never being a jersey guy in the first place. If I was a jersey guy maybe Id feel different about wearing a Lamar or Anthony Nunez jersey.

But again,  I totally get how and why that is the go to attire when attending the game. It feels right even though its not for me. I legit feel like IM the weird one here.

I still bust a jersey out for football games. Baseball I've leaned in to shirts. Wearing my Ripken jersey 20 years ago on a mid-July, 120 degree heat index game almost took me out. Since then I've gone with white T-shirts.

Fair enough, it’s no biggie either way. I guess I kind of understand it.

How do we feel as grown adults standing around wanting autographs? (I feel like that's weird, too). Let the kids enjoy that.

My dad still has his old 1996 Vinny Testaverde jersey, which I've always thought is cool as hell. Every year he talks about getting a new one, and I always tell him he shouldn't.

Love a good jersey, and have one for all the teams I root for, but have definitely leaned more into the vintage stuff recently.

That I definitely agree with. It’s kinda cringe. For the most part. Especially those who are very obviously intending to put it on eBay right away.
