Didn't see all of it, but most interesting thing to me from the Bisciotti / DeCosta press conference was Bisciotti's description of what he's looking for as a coach.  He said unlike the last time he is very intrigued by a former head coach who was the hottest OC or DC candidate 5 or 6 or 7 years ago and they got tough jobs that were uncompetitive without a quarterback and didn't have success.

Sure sounds like Stefanski to me.  But Jim Schwarz or Brian Flores and others would also be in that category.

Also said he doesn't care between offense or defense because you're bringing in 3 people (inferring head coach, OC, and DC).

Bisciotti also said that if Lamar doesn't want to sign an extension that they throw his $74M cap hit into void years and he comes back at the same cap number as last year.

Not exactly sure he's got the mechanics 100% right but it does imply that Lamar does not have any contractual way to prevent a administrative restructuring.

I never saw that (no restructure in the contract) anywhere except on this board. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, but seems like Bisciotti would know that.

Stefanski is very intriguing to me. Isn't he something of an offensive genius? He had Cleveland very competitive a couple of times, which is near impossible.

I am warming up to Stefanski. Plus it would be fun to see him have long-term success here while Cleveland keeps churning through coaches every 3-4 years.

Ravens brass has too high an opinion of themselves. Theyve done a lot of good things but they arent head and shoulders above everyone else like they think.

They’re easily a top ten, maybe top eight franchise in the league. I do agree they’re still coasting on past success but most franchises do.

They def still well run, just that they think their shit dont stink. Think its still 2005 and they are way ahead of everyone scouting and way ahead in the comp pick game. You arent special. You arent unique.

I just see confidence in their ability to correct the issues of the last 5 years, or so. I don’t get a cocky vibe from them. The Ravens Organization is extremely respected by both other organizations and players.

They still are ahead in comp pick game, no? And the philosophy behind that comp pick game is essentially admitting that nobody knows what they're doing in the draft, which directly flies in the face of your thesis here.

They're making a big change. Seems odd timing to call them out for not holding themselves accountable.

At one point they mentioned not having the proper success recently, and it was on everyone from the bottom up. (implying scouts to the FO.) Mentioned star players playing down in big moments, how the OL didn't improve as they expected with experience. How they couldn't get to the QB. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was good to hear the people in charge say it out loud. Usually when they took a risk and missed in the past, they overcompensated the next season. A while back Ozzie put too much faith in his young DB's, and it came back to bite him. The next season they went overboard, pulling in a ton of secondary talent. And EDC mentioned that if a "world wrecker" would become available, they would definitely be in on him. If they can make the money work, I would love to see Maxx Crosby in purple and black.

Stefanski is the best choice. I’d be thrilled.

It really is quite remarkable how the media circles the wagons around Josh Allen when he flops in the playoffs. Could you imagine what the national pundits would be doing to Lamar if he was responsible for that many TOs and that bad overthrow in a playoff game? He would be getting dragged mercilessly.

Keep the same energy for Josh's bad performances that you do for Lamar's. That's all.

McDermott out.

Ravens officially the second best job on the market now.

The Ravens roster is still better than the Bills and regardless of constant negativity towards Lamar, he's a better QB than Allen. So, no, the Bills job is not better than Baltimore.

But hey, some people like anchovies on pizza.

Totally disagree, not that it matters whether it is one or two.  I would rather have Lamar and the Ravens talent than Allen and the Bills.

Not that it matters if Lamar had the stinker that Allen had or worse yet the disaster of an off season that Stroud had, the media would have never let him forget it.  Just saying, Lamar seems to be judged differently than other QB's.

Im surprised Steelers and Bills went through with firing their good HCs after the Ravens with a cycle of coaches that arent that good. McDermott might sit out a year too. but you're giving 3 franchises 3 good coaches. And for what, there isnt a big shot name to pursue.
