I'm not angry. Anyone that suggests trading Lamar is stupid.

Yeah, that was the joke.  He was pretending he was a Facebook poster.

Thanks, I thought the all caps type made that obvious.

I guess we all knew this was coming.

BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — The first of possibly several former Baltimore Ravens has followed head coach John Harbaugh to New York.

According to multiple sources, tight end Isaiah Likely is signing a 3-year deal worth $40 million with the New York Giants.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the deal can be worth up to as much as $47.5 million.

I'm more disappointed that they couldn't keep Kolar. If the 3/$24.3M he got was too rich for the Ravens' blood, I'm not sure what they think they can do to fill the TE room. It's a really bad year to expect to get a day one contributor out of the draft. Sadiq might be about it, and he'll be long gone before #45.

Once again proving that almost always, players don't give a rat's ass what team they sign with as long as they show them the money. Enjoy your yearly 4-5 wins, Tyler!

As far as Stout goes, the Giants better hope that last year wasn't some kind of apparition, because he was very average at best before 2025.

Yeah, I liked Kolar too, as limited as his playing time was.  I hope he'll prosper with the Chargers.  At least he was one player that signed with a play-off caliber team.

I kinda agree, I thought they’d keep Kolar. Maybe they feel they can identify later guys to contribute. To be fair, they have done well at TE.

And if not, there's always the old run-and-shoot.

I never criticize a player, in any sport, for following the money. Especially in the NFL. But as a competitive person, I think I'd have a hard time going home most Sunday evenings, and having to look at my bank accounts as a way to soothe me, as the losses pile up.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

Here's one way to look at NFL salaries...53 players and $300M. Ignoring practice squad and in-season replacements which is wrong but I'm going for big round number approximations.

Average out 7 rounds and a round worth of comp picks over 4 years and half of the roster is guys on their initial contract. Those guys make $2-3M against the cap on average depending on where you are drafting. So that's about $60M spent on about 28 guys. Leaves roughly $240M for the other 25 guys, or an average of nearly $10M per player.

If your late round guys don't make the team, then you gotta replace them with a vet who costs $5M or so, and that shorts what you can spend elsewhere. Every $10M extra you give a vet (5X for Lamar, 3X for Crosby, 2X for Stanley, etc) is another average guy you need to replace with a first contract player

What I would do is irrelevant. I was just proving my point.

Yeah, everything is more fun when you win.

However, I'm going to the highest bidder if I have to sacrifice my body to earn multigenerational wealth

Just a take from a poor white guy from East Baltimore.

Just to expand on this, and something I alluded to in the FA thread, last season the league average for plays run out of 12 personnel was 22.3%. Chicago (Doyle) ran 32.6% out of 12 formations, 6th most in the league, while Atlanta (Ledford) ran 38.2% out of 12, 2nd most in the league.

So 3/$24.3 was too much for Kolar? A guy who was maybe the best blocking TE on the market and was at least passable as a receiver (and maybe had more upside there).
