Apparently, Harbs was fired over the phone though he and Bisciotti talked in person on Thursday
Meant to put this in the Harbs thread if you want to move it
Where did you see that? Genuinely curious, haven't seen that one yet.

Second article leads you to believe John may have been in the building when the decision was made though maybe he had left and EDC came into the room to talk to other coaches. Or Bisciotti wasnt in the building and called. Either way, I tend to believe Harbaugh was comfortable moving on.

Mike Preston said he texted him a few times after he got fired and said Harbs was in a good mood and content. Even though it wasn't characterized as a "mutual" parting, I'm pretty sure Harbaugh was ready to move on too. It's been a long grind.

Yup. And if for some reason he doesnt take another job Biscotti has to pay him the next 3 years.

That tells me Bisciotti probably had no idea he’d end up firing Harbaugh on Tuesday, otherwise he probably would’ve been there in person. Seems this really did come out of nowhere.

Weak.
He should’ve driven to his house and gave him the news in person.
Eighteen years, Mr. Bisciotti.

Tend to agree. Something happened Tuesday. Steve B got a bug up his butt again.

It may have been true that Bisciotti told Harbs over the phone but in what context? Before Harbaugh left the building for the day, Bisciotti might have told him, "I have to think about this, John, but I'll call you with my decision." Or something of that nature. I doubt Steve woke up from a nap and suddenly decided to change head coaches. He doesn't strike me as someone who's going to rush into any decision, especially concerning someone he stuck with for 18 years. The article makes it sound cold hearted and detached but I'm pretty confident it didn't go down that way. We'll know soon enough come next Tuesday.

I don't think there's any context where firing a guy over the phone is OK.
It happens. Welcome to 2026.

Eh. Sure, it happens. Not when you're a multi billion dollar organization with a Head Coach you've had for 18 years who's won you a championship and countless playoff appearances. If it's true, I don't care about context, it's an extremely low class move.
Even if Biscotti made up his mind after business hours or whatever, there's no rush to do it immediately and not the next time they can meet in person.
It's such a ridiculous idea that I can't imagine it's true.

We may never know how it went down, unless Bisciotti specifically talks about it Tuesday. Maybe a reporter will ask him point blank. Or Harbaugh talks about it in the future.

Looks like Orr is getting an interview with Dallas.

I hold no ill will toward Orr. It's not his fault he was thrown into the fire before he was ready. I can honestly see him turning things around, and becoming a good DC.
I think he was just overwhelmed. Calling plays on game day isn't easy. And he started out at the highest level, on a team that expects defensive excellence. I put it more on the front office.

Considering the Dallas defense was trash and the Ravens defense wasn't much better, it sounds like a match made in paradise. Jones never disappoints when it comes to doing the incomprehensible.
