Yeah, social media fans are the absolute worst.

Yeah that's a given when you fail this publicly. Heinous, awful, and inexcusable, but the anonymity and distance make it easy for people to dehumanize others.Loop & his fiance reportedly have received death threats via social media.

Social media allows people to be the worst version of themselves. Especially in anonymity

This may be a product of my imagination, but I actually think Preston wrote that article to light a match under Lamar. He knows he wrote a lot of fiction with probably just a sprinkling of truth and sent it to print. He always says he's not a fan, just a writer but I do think he routes for the Ravens, has a long history with them and wants them to do well. Again, I may be way off base with this theory but it's hard for me to believe Mike Preston is that petty and that motivated to damage someone's reputation and career.
If you actually listen to Preston's comments on the podcast that's exactly how he frames it. I've said before that he's always been a writer that see himself as someone who writes things for attention. A lot of what he wrote was unfounded nonsense but those who want to believe that about him took off with it.

Beat me to it. Preston absolutely said this. Pretty much verbatim.

As for Lombardi, I know at one time he had a personal relationship with EDC going back years ago before he was the GM. Not sure about that now or RSR press credentials if any at this point in time.
All I'll say is that Tony is a fan like anyone but his piece on Lamar was rooted in speculation just like Preston's was and not in anything based in fact.

Unfortunately, social media brings out the ugliness of humanity and most would say nothing if Loop was standing next to them. It's easy to be a coward and despicable when its just you and your phone.
I genuinely feel horrible for Loop and I hope he's remembering what's really important in life this morning. His coaches and teammates like him, he's going to be married to someone he loves and yes, the sun did rise this morning. He has his whole life ahead of him and I do hope he's staying far, far away from whatever, social platforms he has accounts with. I know it hurts but you can't let something like this shatter your life.

For me, this was one of the most distasteful, disappointing seasons in a long time. Really left a bad taste in my mouth and still can't believe they got off to a 1-5 start. For a season that had such promise coming out of camp, the way it crashed and burned was almost shocking.

Has a kicker ever left college early for the NFL? Sebastian Janikowski maybe? We need Lucas Carniero from Ole Miss.
He's definitely done well with pressure kicks.

Highest paid is $4M. A rookie makes at least $840k. Not a wide chasm. Would've never thought I'd consider making Stout a high paid punter before this year. But he finally kicked great and I'd imagine will continue to do so for years to come since it's more about honing a craft than maintaining athleticism. Won't complain if they let him walk and bring in a UDFA but also won't complain if they sign him or take some middle road option.
Dont overpay for Stout. Whatever an overpay is for a punter

Apparently, Harbs was fired over the phone though he and Bisciotti talked in person on Thursday
Meant to put this in the Harbs thread if you want to move it
