Beavers at 21 seems kinda cray. I assume the other 3 are Mejia, George and.... Bradfield???

Nope. DeLeon at #95. Mejía was on a list of “just missed”. Trey Gibson in the 70’s. Nate George and then Luis DeLeon.

Beavers at #21 seems wild, but glad to have a chance to get a comp pick if he has a huge year.  Hell maybe it fuels his trade value and he gets us most of the way to our front end SP?  Not really looking to trade him, but we need a good SP.

Agee but in reality, on the current roster, Beavers has no position. Not going to start over TON, Cowser, and Ward. Yes there are days off but no way he factors in at DH. Now Ward is only here for this season. But also got to think that Bradfield is in CF next season and Cowser moves back to LF. Perhaps if TON sucks again this year they just jettison him in the offseason and give it to Beavers.

 

If we can use Beavers + to get us a good SP I think you have to make that move.

I expect Beavers to be the heavy part of a platoon with O'Neill, so yes, he will be starting over him most days.

Performance will dictate if that continues, but I think that's the baseline.

I believe I predicted we would have at least two pitchers on this list and we do in fact have two plus a "just missed". Michael Forret also just missed.

Did deBrun or Bodine get any love? Probably comparable to Aloy?

Doubtful. deBrun hasnt played yet. Would think he will get a good amount of love if he plays well in A ball next year. I assume he will make it to A ball at some point

The control/command is a real problem, but hes gonna make it to MLB.

They only mentioned 20 players who just missed the list and, as Bob said, Esteban Mejía and Michael Forret were the only names with Oriole ties.

Listed in a BA article today as one of ten players on the 100 list expected to rise this year.

De Leon has dealt with injuries throughout his career, but there’s little doubting the electricity in his left arm. In the Arizona Fall League, he stymied hitters with a plummeting mid-90s sinker, a sweeping slider with plenty of bite and a changeup that floated away from righties. That combination allowed him to rack up whiffs and grounders in large quantities. His ceiling is high, and moderate improvements to his control and command would help him capitalize on that potential.
