The O's decide their willing to trade Mayo, Irish, Aloy, Bateman together (presumably for a SP)...  what's a reasonable return for that group in your opinion?

Pretty much anyone available. Not Skubal but the other names we are hearing.

Add Bradfield and go after Skubal.

Actually it might get you close to Skubal too. Considering he only has 1 year

I was gonna say if that can’t get you one year of any pitcher then he’s not going anywhere.

Tigers would probably want a higher upside guy as their top return but there is a good bit of quality depth in the guys listed above.

No 1 year rentals, please. Unless it's a trade & extend situation

Good news! I saw a dog today.

That gets Gore, IMO.

That's not happening with Skubal.

I don't think it really changes the pitchers you can get because this doesn't work like BTV (we aren't just adding up 'value').

I don't think you have to go that far to get the pitchers you can get.

Mayo makes a lot of sense for a bunch of teams.

Twins. They were at the bottom of 1B OPS, have $$ concerns and don't have answers.  I don't think you get to Ryan, but you can certainly pull the trigger on someone like Pablo Lopez.

Marlins.  They were at the bottom of 1B OPS and Mayo is from Parkland so there's probably plenty of draw there.  Cabrera is the discussed name, but if you wanted Alcantara or someone else this side of Perez, you can do it.

Nationals.  A lot of people like Gore, I don't really want him, but Mayo (or Eldridge from SF) would probably be the foundation for a deal there.  I don't think you need all of that package, but they probably want more than Mayo at this point.

If someone thinks that we're "getting close to Skenes", I think that's silly.

The Mariners 'reported' they weren't willing to move Castillo.  Sure they are because I can do math.  They just have to say that because they want a return, they still have lots of needs (RF, 2B, 3B) and they aren't giving him away (BTV -2.6).

I'd look into Robbie Ray.  They have such a strange setup right now nad they want to compete.  Let them trade Eldridge to the Nats for Gore, and then put Beavers (and try to dump O'Neill) and whatever into a package and they can answer a couple questions at a lower cost and be a little better positioned or a FA or 2.

I don't care that much about Singer from the Reds, but he's a Kremer-ish name.  I'd want to do something for Lodolo, but I think you need another team to get there.

Agree, no chance. Unless he secretly longs to be an Oriole. And that type of player is (please excuse the pun) a rare bird

Morosi was talking about the O's a good bit. He pointed out that the O's and Nats have never made a trade with each other.

Separately, he said that Schwarber & Tucker share the same agent, and that it's a safe bet the O's inquired about Tucker when meeting about Schwarber. I don't expect anything to come of that, but I thought I'd share.

That's 4 really good prospects, so gonna get a big return. Depends on how much heat Mayo has left if you can get anyone you want for that or not. If he's still valued like a top-25 guy, then I think that package should be a winning bid for any of the SP available this off-season.

I think we use only Mayo from that group plus some others to get a SP via trade. I assume a Cabrera deal is dead because we heard about it, but he'd make sense or several other guys. Mayo can be the lead piece in a deal for a good SP.

That is a great haul for a starter.  I would say any of the guys, we have heard from.  Joe Ryan, Peralta any of the top tier guys not named Skubal, but even that is close.

Im not even sure Im giving all that up for 1 year of Peralta. Unlikely I would. Thats a recently former top 25 guy and 3 other guys in the top 10 of our system. Bateman might not be top 10 but he is close.

Now, 2 years of Joe Ryan yes. Some other team controlled guys yes.

It won't take all that for one guy.

Yeah, other than Skubal, i am not packaging all those guys.  I wouldn't even do Skubal unless I had an extension worked out.

I am a big Joe Ryan guy.  I think he is the perfect fit for the Orioles.

Please no one year rentals.

The only one year guy I’d want is Peralta because he’s really good, QO eligible, and seems like a guy you could extend.

I just don't see MIL (or DET or MIN) trading their top guys until mid-year depending on theirs seasons.

Brewers had the most wins in MLB last year and are essentially running the same group back with more Woodruff.  They can't save that much money dealing Peralta and if they're out of it in July, they can save money then.  IF they sell mid-year, their package requirements could transition to more future than current (like they'd probably want if you're over-paying now).
