Man, I loved Shin Soo Choo. Can't believe he retired 5 years ago.

Pretty cool to see Nick on there. I was a big Howie Kendrick fan too.

I guess Beltran and maybe Andruw Jones?

Beltran is the only logical one and he's borderline. Also has the Astros cheating scandal hanging over his head. Manny and A-Rod obviously belong in with a few others.

When did Curt Schilling drop off the ballot? I know he wasn't very liked by the writers, but he's clearly a HOFer.

He asked everyone not to vote for him before his 10th and final year. Many voters were happy to oblige him.

Damn, back of Andruw Jones' career once he got by 30.  Such a shame, otherwise he'd be a slam dunk.

I would assume a piece of crap like Ryan Braun has no chance?

It’s a travesty that Jeff Kent will be in the HOF but that Bobby Grich and even Lou Whitaker aren’t.

Whitaker's 75.1 WAR ranks 7th for all 2B. The avg career WAR for the 20 HOF 2B is 69.5. After today, that # will lower because Kent's career WAR was 55.4.

I'm not saying Kent doesn't belong, but damn. Lou got done wrong (Grich is similar with a 71.1 WAR).

Kent did win an MVP, but I don't think he was even as good as Willie Randolph.

The way the hall has gone lately Kent probably should be in, if they’re going to put Baines and Parker then you’re going to have a really big hof. But of course then all the other 2Bs mentioned above should be as well.

I can't get into these HOF discussions anymore when you have a HOF without Bonds, ARod, Clemens, and Raffy.

I hate that the steroid era inflated numbers, and we don't know what was real and what wasn't...

I hate that Bonds was already likely a HOFer before he started, and that his production grew to cartoonish levels in his mid to late 30s...

But a HOF without them is just stupid imo.

A lot of people share your opinion on those guys. But at least there's a clear reason why they're on the outside looking in. With Kent, it's another step toward becoming the Hall of Very Good.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

I mean Pie Traynor's been in the HOF since 1948 and his career WAR among 3B is lower than Josh Donaldson and Alex Bregman and nearly tied with Eric Chavez, there's always been guys who will look underwhelming compared to Mays, Ruth, Aaron, etc

I have come around to this feeling too.  I think they all cheated, but these guys were terrific players before PED's.  Put them in and move on.

I am glad you included Raffy, he seems to have been forgotten.  His numbers are absolutely HOF worthy.

I think the main reason Traynor is in is because he was considered by many to be the best defensive 3B of all time prior to Brooks.

Weren’t there rumors about Kent and PEDs at one time?

Plus considering how grainy it was back in the olden times I have no idea how any of those guys fielded any balls cleanly at all.

But seriously, considering Bud freakin Selig is in the HoF, just open the door and let all the other frauds in.
