He and Flaherty seem similar. Flaherty played in MLB. This guy flamed out in AAA. Again, my one yellow flag would be Posey passing on him
Posey took over as POBO in September 2024, Albernaz left SFO after the '23 season to go to Cleveland.

Actually saw his name in the MLBTR highlights of the Nationals search (which included Hyde)...was going to add it to the other thread (like the Twins discussion)....just as guys that were getting interviews.
Time in Cleveland seems interesting enough, don't like he was a coach under Kapler for 4 years in SF.
Haven't thought the manager was the problem, but whatever, if he's the guy, let's go.

Until 20 mins ago I don’t know this person existed. So I’ll reserve judgment until he does something that pissed me off lol

That should take at least another 20 minutes.

I know but he worked closely with Posey in '20 and '21 while Posey was a player

Ahh, fair point.

Albernaz was a candidate last year for both Florida and the White Sox's managerial jobs, but withdrew his name from consideration in both cases. Sounds like this guy was sought-after enough to know he'd eventually get a big league managing job and wasn't going to simply take the first opportunity that might present itself.
It's encouraging that the Orioles weren't the last team to hire a manager this offseason. You never want to be the last team to hire.

Could be fine, could be good.
If it was going to be a first time Manager, would have gone with Manso.

Other than bringing back Hyde, I think Mansolino would've been the wrongest choice they could've made.Could be fine, could be good.

The team is going to bounce back, and Albernaz will get more credit than he deserves imo.
But whatever, fresh start, new page for everyone. Fresh eyes.
That's not a bad thing.
