If there's any silver lining for the defense this week, it's beginning to look like the weather is going to be raining with 20-30 MPH wind gusts.  Since it's only Thursday, that's subject to change but if it plays out that way, it doesn't sound too conducive to either team scoring a lot of points.  Mother Nature may have given the Ravens a gift and a more realistic chance at winning this game.

And I will be sitting there in the damn weather.

Humphrey and Rickard returned to practice today.

I think Marlon plays.

So far we have seen 4 guys return and I feel good that Stanley, Marlon and Hamilton play.

Where oh where is #8?

I sold my tickets earlier this week. Didn’t feel like going through that crap again. Thank God I did; I have been to enough wet games in the few years to last me a lifetime.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

It'd be very annoying if Lamar is at 70-80% and refusing to play. Every loss it critical at this point and Lamar at 70% is 1000000x better than Cooper Rush or Huntley at 100%.

There's no way Lamar will play if it's raining.  He's probably out either way but in those conditions, impossible.  No way they're going to risk the whole season on a wet field.  And I hope the forecast changes and you won't have to be subjected to that misery.  It sounds like it could be pretty bad.

Lamar at 70% is better than anybody we have, that’s easy, but Lamar at 70% is probably more likely to sustain a long term injury. I have a effed up Achilles that had a lump and hurts after running, but not during, and I can definitely run on it no problem. But I’m not certain if I’m risking something long term, for example, so I’m not doing anything until I feel a lot better. I wouldn’t necessarily come back early in Lamar’s case unless he’s really good to go.

There was no scenario where Lamar played before the bye once he was on the bench in KC. If that’s a shot at Lamar it’s a shot. But there was no way he was playing again before week 8.

It really looked like he was playing hurt all season and they finally decided to pull the plug and get him healthy.

Agree. But once he came out I knew he wasn’t playing before the bye, if again this season.

If its a wet field, it makes me a little uptight with any of these guys coming back from an injury. But someone has to play.

It looks like Monday is the bad day.

I think they both play

We dont know exactly where he is health wise.Nor do we know where he was during the Cle-KC games. THe only thing we can say for sure was the offense was not as good or efficient during those games. Baltimore runs the ball and they got shut down in these games because there wasnt as much a threat of Lamar running. At the same time, there is no doubt that Lamar at whatever % he was/is gave us a better chance to beat Hou and LA. I think the question not just for Lamar but the organization was do we sit him for 3 weeks and hope he can be more effective after the bye or just keep running him out there every week at a lower %.  I dont know what the right answer was nor do I know if there is a right answer.

I don't see a way this isn't a complete ass-kicking assuming Lamar is out. 38-17., with the possibility of being in or around 45-10.

If he plays it'll be in the 34-27 range.

Even if Lamar is 70%, you keep him out of this game.  No brainer.  He probably wasn't going to play anyway but with a wet field and windy conditions, it's going to be a challenge for both teams to establish any kind of passing attack.  Let him rest and see where he's at after the bye.  Hopefully by then, he'll be close to 100% and the Ravens can start turning this mess of a season around.

I would tend to say you were right if the weather was like last Sunday.  But it's going to be miserable out there and as I said in the first post, the Ravens might have caught a break with the weather keeping this game close.

[Schefter] Ravens officially ruled out QB Lamar Jackson for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams and will start QB Cooper Rush instead. Other Ravens ruled out for Sunday: MLB Roquan Smith (hamstring), FB Pat Ricard (calf), OT Emery Jones (shoulder), CB Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring).

So yeah, too bad. At least Stanley, Humphrey, and Hamilton practiced in full Friday.

Weather probably won't be much of a factor.  Rain showers on an off, but it will be breezy.  Both passing games might be affected.  That probably benefits the Ravens slightly.  Their pass defense is a mess and any help the wind may give in containing Stafford will be a plus.  Without Lamar the Ravens passing game is not much of a threat so the wind won't really matter.  But if the Rams know that they can key on Henry and so far the Ravens offensive line is not getting much of a push.

Coming off a loss and with extra time to prepare, it's hard to see the Rams not winning this game.  Maybe the wind will keep the Rams from putting up close to 40 points and embarrassing the defense again.  That's pretty much the only hope I can give except for the old saying, "On any given Sunday."
